My Mum
By Lewis Hudson aged 10
I love my mum
So very much
I love the way she hugs me
And her gentle touch.
I love the way she tucks me into bed
With a hug and a kiss goodnight
I love it when she reads me a story
Before she turns out the light.
She tells me that she loves me
My sister and brother too
We are always having fun
Like mums and their children should do.
She takes me to all my clubs
There is one almost everynight
She never leaves time for herself
Not in the day or at night.
Even when i am naughty
I may make her mad
But she will always hug me
And tell me not to be sad.
She helps me with all my stuff
And plays the playstation too
Sometimes I may beat her
But other times she will beat me too.
She takes me to the park
On my bike or skates
She always serves my dinner
On my favourite plate.
When I am sick and poorly
She'll tuck me up in bed
She'll sit and never leave me
And she will gently stroke my head.
And when my brother and sister
Are asleep in their bed at night
We sit and have our quiet time
Before I say goodnight.
So yes, I'm not embarrassed
To say to my mum, I love you
Because there is no one in this world
Who can ever replace you.
